India’s leading percussionist “Ghatam” Suresh Vaidyanathan, releases new single, “Rhythm Stream (Grooves Unleashed)”
This solo track is going to be the first in the new album Suresh is bringing out later this year.
It has been quite a long wait for the followers of the maestro, who is in unstinted love with the “clay pot” for four decades now.
Suresh Vaidyanathan, from India, internationally acclaimed and respected for his in-depth knowledge of Indian rhythm, melody and technical supremacy in percussion, has gained pre-eminence with his unique fingering techniques, sound modulation and is credited with revolutionizing the art.
Recording for Pop Legend Paul Simon in Manhattan, a decade back was the most exciting experience for Suresh. Suresh’s ghatam grooves beautifully cascade in the piece “Dazzling Blue” in the celebrated album “So beautiful or so what”.
As for the single “Rhythm Stream” (Grooves Unleashed), Suresh says,
“Flow of a stream is ever exciting to watch. The thrill proliferates when the banks discipline its rhythm”.

Suresh is an amazing teacher of the traditional South Indian rhythmic system, having well accomplished students all over the world. His compositions are eagerly applied and mastered on any world percussion instrument.
Hailed as “the powerhouse of Ghatam”, Suresh’s exigent performances in classical concerts, Jazz and Drum festivals with top musicians and drummers internationally, has brought him much deserving global respect.

Ghatam, the clay pot is man’s first creation from all the five elements of nature. The potter is a demi God! Hence Expressions coming from the ghatam are full of life and divine!
When I perform, I communicate with the absolute truth through the medium of my rhythm and communicator is my Ghatam.
The tone of the ghatam is meditative and the humble clay pot teaches more philosophy than any other object around you!
The forthcoming album is intended to make musicians around the world identify themselves with the rhythm of the “clay pot” as well as the humane in the music that connects them perpetually.
Ghatam, an Indian brother of the African Udu, has a similar humble origin, and also the most soulful percussion from the nature!
